Abbie’s Baptism

I know everyone has been waiting for me to add pictures to our blog so here we go. A couple of weeks ago we had Abbie baptized, since my dad is a deacon in the Catholic Church he was able to baptize her for us which makes the day even more special for all of us. We had a lot of friends and family that came and it meant a great deal to all of us that they were there to share in this special day with us.... We asked my brother Richard and his wife Lesa as well as grandma to be her Godparents they of course accepted with open arms. Richard and Lesa have spent most of there time away from us due to Richard being in the Air force, it is so nice to actually have them home now and to be able to spend time with them. We live just a few minutes away from each other and I am so glad the my children will be able to spend time with them as well as me and Rich.

I can't even tell you how much fun it was shopping for a baptism dress for Abbie, it wasn't easy to find one but once I saw this one I knew it was the perfect dress for her. Our close friend Jamie took all these pictures for us and this is probably one of my favorite pictures she has taken. There is just something about baby feet that makes me smile.

My handsome little guys

The boys are absolutely in love with there sister and were pretty excited that they were able to come to her baptism. The morning of her baptism Landon kept telling me not to forget her dress, I swear sometimes those kids think I am losing my mind, we won't tell them I probably am. I look at this picture and can't even believe how big they are getting before we know it they are going to be moved out and married. Just a quick update on the boys, Dominic has made it through his first month of kindergarten I can't believe how smart he is and how much he is learning, he comes home everyday and tells me all sorts of words and what letter they start with. He is starting to make new friends and seems to really enjoy going to school, thank goodness it is almost fall, for some reason he only wants to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts to school, it is hard to explain to him that it is 90 degrees outside and that he is going to be very hot if he wears that. Landon is doing well in school as well, he had a rough week a while back but is back to being a good boy at school now. He told us the other day that he had a girlfriend that other day when we asked him who it was he told us Mrs. Bick, his teacher how cute is that. He is learning a lot as well, he has had is colors down for a while but is really working on mastering his letters.

Our Wonderful Family

This is my amazing family as much as I hate having my picture taken I thought I would share this one since it was such a special day. Starting from left to right my sister in law Lesa then my hubby, me and Abbie, my dad then my mom the boys and last my brother. I am so glad that everyone was there. My brother and his wife have spent most of there time away from us since he was in the air force but now they are living here and lucky for us we only live about 5 minutes apart. My boys are in love with Uncle Richard and of course think that Aunt Lesa is pretty cool to. I am so glad that they are close again we have missed them over the past few years and are so glad that we can spend this time together now. My dad as I said was able to baptize Abbie which I know is something that is very special to him and to us alike, he has been able to baptize all of our children and it means a lot to us that he has been able to do this.

After her baptism my brother and his wife held an open house at there home and all of our friends and family were able to come and eat and have a great time. We had lots of food and anyone who knows our family knows that we always have enough food to feed an army. We had family there who were not able to make it to the baptism and we are so thankful that they were able to make it. My sister in law had this cute cake made at a little bakery in Ogden and it was delicious. I hope they know how thankful we are that they did this for us and for Abbie.
