Tis the Season

We as a family are preparing for the holiday season, I love this time of year, getting all the gifts ready to give to others and spending time with family and friends.  This past weekend I put all of our Christmas decorations up at our house and it took my the entire day but, it was all worth it when my children arrived home from Grandma's house and were running from room to room with more excitment then I had seen in months.

This year I thought it would be a great idea to make each of my kids a Christmas tree for their room.  For the boys room I took all the ornaments they had made at school over the past few years and created their tree from that- it turned out just darling and they have it displayed in their room.  For Abbie since she hasn't made any ornaments at school yet I thought it would a fun to do a super girly tree for her- therefore she got a tree made of huge bright pink flowers and silver snowflakes and fairy princess ornaments- it turned out darling as well and she is happy as ever with it.

We have so much going on this next month and I can't wait to spend time with my family doing all of it.  There is the Christmas party at my work where they will be able to talk to Santa and met the Grinch- they love him, then there is Christmas cookie baking, another Christmas party at Richard's mom's house and then Richard's Christmas party at the end of the month which is always a lot of fun and it's always nice to be able to spend time with just Rich.

This year for Christmas Eve we are going to my mom's house again - which is always fun there is a ton of food and all our friends and family come, we usually stay there pretty late which is nice because it wears my kids out and then there are nice and tired by the time we make the long trip home.  Luckily this year a very nice friend of my was willing to trade me days so I won't have to work which really makes it all that more special.  Christmas day this year our plan is to stay home and spend time as a family, Rich's dad is coming up from breakfast and then we are just having a quiet dinner at home and then I will be heading into work to spend time with my other family.

We have really tried to teach our kids that Christmas isn't about receiving but about giving to others and the boys seem to have really caught onto it this year.  They have been talking about things they want to give away to others and Landon has already started boxing up stuff in preperation.

There is nothing more special then this time of year and all the joy and happiness that comes with it.  The countdown has already begun in our house and we can't wait to celebrate.

April

We are running a little behind on updating so I thought I would sum up April really fast before the summer takes over and there is no time to update at all.  We have been busy getting ready for the end of the school year and preparing for all the fun we will be having this summer.

Dominic is doing really well and is preparing for his First Communion this Sunday and he is super excited about it we took him out to buy a new suit and tie and we are so proud of him on this new step he will be taking in the Catholic Church.

Landon is doing well also, its been a busy month for him at school, just before Easter break he and his class presented the Living Stations of the Cross, he did a great job and I am so proud of him.

We also did some camping last month which the kids totally love, the weather was nice the first day but the second day there was a huge sand storm and on the third day it started to snow, thank goodness we were already on our way home.

Dominic being a great big brother and pushing is sister since her 4- Wheeler kept getting stuck
Next we celebrated Landon's 6th birthday, he chose to have sandwiches again this year and everything turned out just great.  He is big into camo so I made him camo cupcakes with army men on top and he was in love with them, he wouldn't stop talking about it them to everyone.  He got lots of cool gifts and had a great day.  I can't believe that he is already 6 it seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.  While he isn't my easiest child he for sure brings so much laughter into our house, he can make anyone smile and is the sweetest and kindest little boy.
Happy Birthday Landon we love you!!!!
Abigail is getting so big and will be starting 3 year old preschool this August.  She has the best little personality and makes us smile just by looking at her.

Dominic's 8th Birthday

This past Sunday we celebrated Dominic's 8th Birthday, I don't know where time has gone but it has gone by way to fast! We spent the day with family, Dominic chose to have spaghetti again this year for dinner, with garlic bread and salad. He also decided this year instead of a cake he wanted me to make monster cupcakes, so Saturday night I was up late making them in preparation for the big day!

Dominic with Abbie who didn't understand it wasn't her birthday yet!

More and more presents

(I think he's just there for the presents)

It was a wonderful day full of memories and great times. I still remember the day he was born and then leaving the hospital with this new baby in a snow storm. He has grown so much and he is such a wonderful young man, so kind and helpful. I can not wait to see what the next 8 years will bring!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOMINIC!!!!!
